root -1 is no more
The reasons are simple:
- It’s hard to get across how you say it. It’s pronounced “Root Negative One,” not “Root One” or any crap like that.
- The domain is hard to get across without text. I mean, seriously, there’s a reason people don’t put hyphens in their domains anymore. Throw a numeral in there and the whole thing’s gone to pot.
- A podcasting network? Those mostly exist for advertising and marketing purposes, not for content purposes. Even the great Revision3 distributes third-party podcasts (like The Totally Rad Show). Content is my strength, not advertising.
- I have too many things going on and I need to consolidate.
Honestly, while I love the name (it’s an imaginary number, people!), the sheer crookedness of the domain is killing it. I think I’m just going to use blip.tv to host the podcasts and let some other enterprising young sophomore grab what’s left of root -1.
Recovering Pharisee’s going to be changing soon, too. I had a brief talk with my business partner and agreed on some significant changes. That just leaves Anticipation as the big question mark.
